Sustainability

Acknowledging the overwhelming evidence of climate change, Epping Forest District Council declared a Climate Emergency in September 2019 and pledged to do everything within its power to become a carbon neutral district by 2030.

To act on this target the Council has developed a climate change action plan.

Actions within the plan aim to support and advise businesses in low carbon practices including sustainable business travel and commuting. Specifically growing the network of on-site and public electric vehicle charge points, designing and amending bus services to meet needs, exploration of Demand Responsive Transport, introduction of car share schemes and travel planning advice.
